EDL acts as an intermediary for your investment in commercial papers or bankers’ acceptances. Your investment can be tied to blue chip companies indicated as your preference. The rates available are market-driven and competitive depending on the tenor and the name of the issuer. EDL offers real time delivery on these transactions.

I. Commercial Paper Issue

Working capital is essential to all going concerns and in managing your Naira – denominated working capital, there are occasions you require funds. At such times, you may mandate EDL to raise a specified sum for you through investment in your commercial papers. In this type of transaction, we act as the issuing agent for your commercial papers and make available to you the funds that have been obtained.

The tenor of the funds provided could be 30-days, 60-days, 90-days or whatever tenor you specify. The rates will be subject to the prevailing market conditions at the time the commercial papers are being raised. All terms of the transaction will be pre-agreed between our two organisations.

II. Syndication

Where you require substantially large volume of funds, EDL can package, lead and manage a syndication to raise the amount from the money and discount markets. This readily falls within our portfolio as securities traders.
